Meteor Shower is a reproduction of an underwater photo I took in the warm pacific waters near Sayulita, Mexico. The shimmering particles were produced by swirls of sand catching rays of sunlight. I love how vivid the rays are in this photo. That, coupled with the star-like glimmers of the sand particles, had me thinking of shooting stars and meteor showers. On top of that, the colours of this piece remind me of the northern lights. Meteor Shower forms part of a series of underwater photos I took, which I called Underwater Galaxies, simply because these photos (and Meteor Shower in particular) had me feeling like I was looking through a telescope up at a night sky.
