LOSING MYSELF AT DUSK

Losing Myself At Dusk is loosely inspired by a beautiful nook in Dartmoor National Park in Devon. I didn’t think/intend for it to be obvious (after all, there are no snow capped mountains in Dartmoor!) until two different friends who’ve been there with me at different times immediately recognised it upon seeing the painting. It’s a magical spot, where you can hide amongst pines, decaying trunks, and moss, where wild raspberries, blueberries, strawberries, and all sorts of mushrooms grow. Maybe you’ll hear owls calling at dusk, maybe you’ll dip yourself in the river. Maybe you’ll gaze up at the sky and for a split second have your mind blown by the mystery of it all...
